Training the Trainers: RAMS Appreciation Course for Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications (IRISET) Staff
Intellex conducted a two-day RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) appreciation course for the staff of the Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications (IRISET).
The course covered broader topics in Systems engineering, System safety, RAM, and System assurance with a focus on exploring how these disciplines are applied to railway systems such as Kavach and interlocking technologies. The training was very well received and led to some engaging and productive discussions. Beyond sharing knowledge, the training provided valuable insights into Indian railway systems. Many of the questions and viewpoints raised reflected real-world challenges and approaches, making the experience mutually enriching.
The IRISET campus offered an impressive setting for the program. I had the opportunity to visit their state-of-the-art laboratories, which feature a full range of interlocking systems and Kavach technologies. IRISET delivers comprehensive training programmes in signalling disciplines through advanced, cutting-edge facilities that provide a highly engaging learning experience.
Staying at the officer’s hostel on campus was another memorable aspect of the visit. The exceptional hospitality and excellent cuisine made the experience even more enjoyable.
We sincerely thank Mr. Sharad Kumar Srivastava, Mr Arunkumar, and Mr Ramesh Babu for their support during the program. Here are some snapshots from the training sessions and the IRISET campus.
